Chiang Mai from the Other Side
Chiang Mai is the second largest city in Thailand, but much smaller than Bangkok. At night, the atmosphere is more exciting. In downtown, there is a hallway when we entered it in it there is such a crowded plaza. In the middle of the arena plaza there was Muay Thai (Thai boxing) mercenaries. All around are restaurants, cafes, and bars with the contents of beautiful women.
Make no mistake, among which turned out to be pretty much the lady boys – that is, the transvestites, men who change their physical appearance to be like women. Chiang Mai, arguably, is the capital of the world transvestites. Not least the beauty and form of women’s own body makes heavy envy.
For the sake of “safety” of consumers, it also had a nasty practice of ethics. For example, a cafe and bar that displays a special lady boy – women must not be mixed with the original – so consumers are not misled. Their language is also differentiated. Thai language is recognized as masculine and feminine. When spoken by a woman, “thank you” should be pronounced as “ka Khun.” The men say “krap Khun.” However, the lady boys obliged to say “ha Khun.”
If you are traveling to Chiang Mai with family, do not forget to stop by to Maesa Elephant Camp. Here there are 70 elephants that demonstrate a variety of intelligence. There is clever play soccer, there is a clever arithmetic, and there is also a masterful painting. In my opinion, this is the best in the world of elephant camp. Not surprisingly, Maesa even have a record from the Guinness world record. Every day, hundreds of visitors come here. Do not forget to come a half hour early, to get a photo opportunity interesting, namely the elephants for breakfast.
Around Chiang Mai also there are two objects of tourism that is worth a visit, namely the Temple of Doi Suthep from a height that allows us to see the city of Chiang Mai in a bird’s eye view. Not far from the temple on this mountain, there is also a Hmong mountain tribe village unique.
As a final note, there was another thing that helps “eliminate” the impression of commercial sex from Chiang Mai. Since last year, apparently Simon’s Cabaret – a spectacle a la Broadway musical featuring lady boys – have been bankrupt and are no longer operating.
