Paul McCartney
Sir Paul McCartney has lent his support to reducing the carbon footprint of this year’s Isle of Wight Festival, where he is the headline act. The ninth festival to take place on the island since its return from its 1970 heyday gets under way on Thursday. The annual event was restarted at Seaclose Park in Newport in 2002 and is one of the UK’s largest festivals. McCartney was recently honored at the White House where he was given the Gershwin Prize by Barack Obama. Paul McCartney brought down the White House at an East Room concert last week by belting out “Michelle,” aiming its romantic lyrics straight at first lady Michelle Obama. Roger Waters Tickets and Justin Bieber Tickets are selling very fast with cheap prices. You can get your American Idols Tickets from TicketToGames.com with cheap and discount prices. After serenading the first lady with the words, “I love you, I love you, I love you,” McCartney joked that he just might be the “first guy ever to be punched out by a president.”President Barack Obama didn’t seem to mind though.
The North American leg of Paul McCartney’s Up and Coming tour kicks-off in a month and Toronto and Montreal have made the cut. McCartney will also be stopping by the Bell Centre in Montreal on August 12th.These are the only Canadian dates on a tour that will also include Pittsburgh and Kansas City, but it is an improvement considering he only stopped by Halifax last year and Quebec City the year before. There is no word yet on whether Canadian taxpayers will have to incur similar costs for the 67-year-old’s Toronto and Montreal gigs.
