GRAND CANYON NATIONAL PARK, ARIZONA
This amazing park is 1,904 square miles of some of the most stunning scenery in the world.  Its main attraction is the 277 mile mammoth gorge filled with colorful geology.  This park has some of the nation’s cleanest air and spectacular views.  The ideal time to visit the Grand Canyon is during the spring and fall seasons.  While South Rim is open year round, North Rim closes from mid-October to mid-May.  In addition to the main attraction, you can also enjoy fishing, whitewater rafting and hiking.

YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK, WYOMING
This park was our country’s first national park.  In the midst of the miles or rivers, lakes and mountains are areas of geothermic activity.  The geysers, natural hot springs and pools of water are tinted green, red and yellow by the sulfur content.  Yellowstone contains one of the world’s largest ecosystems.  It is home to hundreds of species of birds, fish, reptiles and mammals, including some of the country’s last free-roaming herds of bison.  When planning your trip, be sure to plan carefully as to allow yourself ample time to see as much of the park’s seven regions as possible.

NIAGARA FALLS STATE PARK, NEW YORK
Niagara Falls is well known for its majestic beauty.  In addition to the sparkling scenery of the falls, this park features interactive exhibits, miles of hiking trails and exquisite in-park dining.  Two attractions you won’t want to miss on your trip to this park are the Cave of the Winds tour and the Maid of the Mist boat ride.  You should plan to visit Niagara falls around the month of July to enjoy the warmest New York weather.  However, be sure to check the Niagara Falls, New York weather report a few days before your scheduled trip to make sure you will have no unpleasant surprises.

DENALI NATIONAL PARK, ALASKA
This park is great for the tourist who wishes to experience something totally different from the usual national park experience.  Mount McKinley, the tallest mountain in North America, is the centerpiece of this park.  Grizzlies, caribou, red foxes and prairie dogs are just some of the animals that can be seen there.  Activities you won’t want to miss on your trip include snowshoeing, dog mushing, climbing and kayoing.

When it comes to items, like computer bags and umbrellas, many people take the “less is more” approach. In their view, accessories are semi disposable and likely to get lost or stolen so what’s the point in spending a lot of money on them.

On the other side of the fence are people who think that buying name brand accessories like GustBuster umbrellas is the only way to go. These are the folks who don’t leave umbrellas sitting on buses. Over the long run, high quality accessories are always a better deal. You pay a little more for them at the onset, but if you have your umbrella for twenty years, that’s a pretty good deal, no matter how many times you use it.

I’ve worked at several hotels in Maine and they have all provided relatively easy work. People are generally pretty laid back because they are traveling, which makes them easy to work with. But there are of course the crazy people that want everything just perfect, but everything in life can’t be easy. Plus working in a hotel you get to meet lots of women, which is nice. There are more lucrative ways to make money, but I really like this kind of easy work.

But the thing about Maine hotels I truly adore is their simple yet beautiful architecture. I just really like the style that they are all made with. It seems to compliment the easy work rather well, and there is really nothing that I’d rather be doing with my life.

It all started with my family’s business. They ran a lovely Ogunquit hotel when I was young, but they didn’t run it very well. Soon things slowed down and we went out of business, but I really liked that period of my life. As I grew up it became apparent that I wasn’t going to be able to afford my own business, but I always knew I could land a job at one.
